tomorrow

Well. We're getting married tomorrow.

The dogs are washed. Our suits are set out. Family is trickling into town. Murray probably has the rings. It's all beginning to seem almost real...

L's going out tonight with Sherlock. I'm going out with Nicky. Mycroft and Carla have some undisclosed plans. It will be a busy night. Just as well. Maybe it'll keep me from being too nervous/excited/unable to think of anything else. I hope I'm not too boring tonight, Nicky. ;)

I think I'll be too distracted for Sherlock - not up to standard!

Why am I wetter than either dog??

pandabob said...

Having your last dinner as a single man with a lovely lady sounds like a good distraction John :-)

Good luck with sleeping at all and have a great day tomorrow, no two people deserve a special day together more than you two :-)

John H. D. Watson said...

I'm sure he'll tell you if you're not paying proper attention. :)

Anonybob - thanks! Sleep may prove impossible...

Greg Lestrade said...

I'm certain he will!

I don't mind being awake together. I just want to hold you, squeeze you tight ;)

(Make sure you don't run away!)

John H. D. Watson said...

As long as I'm free to do the same to you, the night should be a good one whether we sleep or not.

REReader said...

I hope you all have lovely evenings and a restful (if not necessarily sleep-full!) night. :)

Greg Lestrade said...

It should. Our last night of freedom, before we make honest men of each other :)

Anyway... I apparently have to get changed and wait for Sherlock to collect me for our date now :)

John H. D. Watson said...

Think he'll bring you flowers?

Greg Lestrade said...

He didn't. But he was wearing aftershave.

REReader said...

:) Very proper!

Greg Lestrade said...

He's being a gentleman. And very good company.

How're you, John?

John H. D. Watson said...

Nicky's also being a gentleman. ;) We're having a very nice time, just ordered a really impressive-sounding chocolate cake. Where did you and Sherlock go?

Greg Lestrade said...

Nice little bistro. Having three courses. Sherlock is quizzing me more thoroughly than Murray!

Desert Wanderer said...

CONGRATULATIONS!! Also, I love the tags you picked, Doc. Couldn't ask for more in life, could you? :)

John H. D. Watson said...

DW - thanks! And no I couldn't - that's all anyone could want, I think. :)

L - it's almost your date's bedtime...

Greg Lestrade said...

He's allowed up a little later, and we're having after dinner coffee.

You still out? Where did you go?

John H. D. Watson said...

Home again. Nicky thought she should check on your mum. We went to a Japanese place, sushi and tempura, and then stopped in somewhere else for dessert. It was really nice - no champagne or nipple fixations or anything. :)

Greg Lestrade said...

We're on the way back :)

Think I might be carrying my date home...

REReader said...

Awwww. :)

After dinner coffee--Sherlock's very good at custom tailoring his dates. Lovely!

Good night, all--best wishes for a happy and beautiful big day tomorrow!

Greg Lestrade said...

Well...wasnt the first time Ive carried my date home. Maybe the last?

Although I think John and Nicky must have polished off at least one bottle of wine, so maybe not ;)

John H. D. Watson said...

Yeah, wouldn't count on it :)

Greg Lestrade said...

Might carry you to bed now. We need to go to bed before midnight. Can't take you to bed twice on our wedding day ;)

John H. D. Watson said...

I'm all for that. Might even manage some sleep.

Greg Lestrade said...

I might not...

I love you, John Watson. And tomorrow you will make me the happiest man alive.

John H. D. Watson said...

Happiest except for me maybe. I love you too, so much.

Small Hobbit said...

You two are very sweet.

Wishing you both all the very best for tomorrow.

pandabob said...

I'm glad you both had fun at your last single man dinners :-)

I hope you're both asleep now and if not that you're finding some other fun way to pass the night ;-)

Olli said...

Are "last single man dinners" a thing? Or is that just the two of you?

Oh, I will have to find a fancy hat to wear in your honor. And possibly wake up at 4 am so I don't miss too much of Mrs. H's commentary.

I hope everything is perfect.

rsf said...

Hooray! And it sounds like you both had lovely dates. I hope I can manage to get on the internet tomorrow to watch Mrs. Hudson's updates!

woo hoo! :) I'm not quite all the way caught up yet, but have been peeking, on the lookout for the big day. Congrats, have a wonderful day. I suspect I'll be among the virtual celebrants too, refreshing the page throughout the day.
All the best!

I'm afraid the weather man said it would rain all day long here, dears. But at the moment the house is alive with people and comings and goings.

The wedding isn't until this afternoon, but there's always so much to be done.

Small Hobbit said...

In which case we will pack our virtual umbrellas.

Wishing the household all the best for the morning chaos. Are the dogs getting excited and under everyone's feet?

pandabob said...

Good luck to all of you in getting sorted and ready for the big event :-)

Trills said...

Rain at a wedding is supposed to be good luck, isn't it?

Sherlock said...

Ive got flowers to wear on my chest and the dogs have got flowers on their collars.

ro said...

Are they purple flowers, Sherlock? I bet you'll look very smart in your wedding outfit. How do the dogs feel about the flowers? Are they trying to eat them?

Hi guys. I've been trying to catch up on your lives, but I'm still only on February - despite your blog title, John, you both lead such interesting lives that it's taking me a while to catch up ;-)

I just had to pop in today though and wish you both a wonderful and happy married life together. I hope you all, John, Greg, Mycroft, Sherlock, family, friends, dogs and degus have an absolutely amazing day and I look forward to hearing all about it.

All the best.
Joolz x :-)

how wonderful Sherlock :-)

I bet you look very smart.

Sherlock said...

Yes purple but I had to take it off again because we're going to the place soon and then getting changed there so we don't get wet. The dogs haven't eaten their flowers I don't think they mind. Mrs Hudson's cried already.

Anon Without A Name said...

That sounds like a good plan, given it's so wet in London today.

Have a wonderful day, all.

*adjusts virtual hat*

*has a wee pre-wedding drink*

I read that a pre-wedding pee, Nameless (which I will definitely have!)

It's..er...all go here. Just getting dressed.

Am terrified. Not of getting married :) but there suddenly seem like a lot of people here, by the noise of talking and people we can see arriving out the window.

pandabob said...

remember to fasten your zip and all will be fine Greg ;-)

Enjoy every moment of your very special afternoon.

John H. D. Watson said...

Happy anniversary, Kestrel - you can remind us of ours next year if we forget ;)

I have never seen my mum wear a hat that size before

ro said...

Oh, it's all getting exciting and I have to go to bed! Have a GREAT day, guys! I'll read all about it while you're off on your first night as old marrieds!

Martha Hudson said...

I'm going to tell you all about it as best I can on Lestrade's blog, dears. I'm really not at all sure I shall keep up though!

I was going to trawl through some of the many wedding pics we have, of various parts of the day... but honestly, I can barely keep my eyes open.

tomorrow, though, promise to actually tell you guys something about it all! (other than it was brilliant, because I ended the day with John as my husband ;) )
