Well. I imagine you've read L's post so you know his mum is in hospital after a stroke. He's staying with Nicky. I've answered all of Sherlock's and Mycroft's questions that I could. And now I'm really just sitting here staring out the window and failing to think of things to type. So I'd better go and try to sleep. Good night, everyone. Thank you for all the support today.
Low Tide
Edna St Vincent Millay
These wet rocks where the tide has been,
Barnacled white and weeded brown
And slimed beneath to a beautiful green,
These wet rocks where the tide went down
Will show again when the tide is high
Faint and perilous, far from shore,
No place to dream, but a place to die, —
The bottom of the sea once more.
There was a child that wandered through
A giant's empty house all day, —
House full of wonderful things and new,
But no fit place for a child to play.

Night John, hope you get some good sleep.
Good night, John. Here's hoping tomorrow brings good news. (And you know, no few of us are here if you want company. :))
Thanks for all your support, and translating and explaining the medical stuff.
I love you. I miss you.
John, if you're thinking about your tags, I hope you'll remember that you aren't any more responsible for your sister drinking than Greg is for his mum.
L - I miss you too.
Did you manage some sleep John?
I hope you have as good a day as you can at school Sherlock, you too Mycroft. Be good to yourselves :-)
What anonybob said, to all of you.
I know that for me, waiting and not being able to do anything is really tough. I hope it helps all three of you to remember that knowing you're there and caring means the world to L.
How does it go? They also serve who have to stand and wait? I hope you and Sherlock are getting through the day with only minor bumps, John. And now I'm going to go check L's blog and hope there's some news.

Some sleep happened. Thanks, guys. Sherlock was up very early but was more or less content to get in bed and read with me. Or read at me, since I was still mainly asleep. I had a very odd dream about giant bees drinking espresso just before I woke up, probably thanks to his bee facts.
Glad you got a bit of sleep. Sherlock seemed fairly content when I spoke to him this morning. No complaints about milk temperature.
Bonus of staying with Nicky is proper coffee in the morning, not some sorry cheap hotel brew.
I hear the weather is completely filthy in London? Sal says it's virtually dark already, at lunchtime, with the rain.
It does seem to be going out of its way to be as depressing as possible, yeah. How is it there?
I'm glad you managed some sleep John and that Sherlock seems to be doing ok :-)
Not as bad as it was.
Sorry, in the midst of the big reunion.
Feel even more like I'm 12 now.
Did you get clothes that fit at least?
Yeah got jeans and a shirt.
I'm coming home. Should be there in.a couple of hours. Maybe 3 given the weather.
I'm glad. We miss you. Is there anything you want for dinner?
And I think I have some options in the area that should be able to help her when she's ready to go home. I can email what I found to Nicky if you like? I didn't know if you two already had something worked out.
I'm having trouble posting, but if this gets through, glad to hear your mum in good enough shape that you can go home, L. Hope you'll find a warm dinner and a warm doctor when you get there!

I hope you heading home is a sign of good news Greg.
You sound like you've put your time to good use John, good luck making dinner ;-)
Whatever you want for dinner.
I hope this means your mother is doing well, L. Travel safe.
How are you doing, John and Sherlock?
Sorry, John, I don't think we're sending you back a very happy Orio. I don't know what to say except we're related to some very bitter, nasty, lazy people.
The doctors say only time will tell with Mum. But she's in the right place and they seem to think she'll be okay. But she's also very high risk of having another stroke, and now she's starting to go through withdrawal too it might not seem like she's improving much at first.
At least she's close now so Rachel and I can visit easily. Maybe the boys will too when they've all calmed down a bit. You and yours ate always welcome to stay over with us if you come down.
Can you send me that email? It's very kind of you.
I hope you and yours are ok Nicky, it sounds like not a great day for you really.
I'm sorry if its been tough Greg, families are funny things and really aren't great sometimes.
We're all here if and when you need to let off steam though.
Sorry it sounds like it didn't go as well as you may have hoped. Families aren't always the easiest of things - especially when under stress.
Hope you made it home okay without too much rain caused traffic hold-ups.
Speaking of which, Nameless have you had trouble getting home?
Nicky - the email's sent. I'm really sorry it didn't go well. Family reunions can be difficult under the best circumstances. I hope you and your family are looking after yourselves. I'll text or something when L gets here so you don't have to worry.
Give him a hug from the Internet when he gets in, family can be just a pain in the arse.
And we should have pizza so no one has to cook and pizza and ice cream is nice and makes everyone happy. I wouldn't like lots of brothers and sisters because just one is enough unless maybe I had a twin and we could gang up on Mycroft that would be okay.
Anon - I will. Family...yeah. What can you do.
Sherlock - just a twin, not a clone? Pizza would be all right, yeah.
Yeah a clone! And then if I needed a spare kidney I could have one and it would be the same and he'd want pizza too can we have the one with the egg? And when is Lestrade home it's 3 hours and 3 minutes now and he said TWO.
He said maybe three, given the weather. And yes, we can have the one with the egg.
Would your clone also be named Sherlock?
No that would be confusing he'd be called Clone. Or maybe Tytherton.
And asparagus
Why Tytherton?
Tytherton, that's a good name, Tytherton Asparagus would be even better. What would you do if he pretended to be you and told everyone you were the clone?
I don't know why are you called John and why is Lestrade called Lestrade and why is Mycroft called Mycroft?
Everyone would have to know I was the real one first and maybe I'd make him have a tattoo.
Fair enough. You really want asparagus on the pizza?
I would. And lots of olives. And extra cheese. Sound okay, Sherlock? And garlic bread.
Seconding Anon's comment about hugs and families. Hope you're home safe soon, L.
SH - yeah, fortunately I had no problems, but I know people who weren't so lucky. You?
John, you are doing a very good job of not acting as if the idea of having another Sherlock in the house isn't the most exhausting thought ever. I commend you.
(Lestrade, I hope you're back in the comforting arms of your other family soon, if you aren't already! Sorry about, well, everything.)
L - got it. You know, I didn't even know people put asparagus and eggs on pizzas before I met you. Almost home? I'll make some tea.
Thirdbird - only because he probably won't work out how to do it until he's moved out of the flat.
Nameless, yes thank you. It took longer than usual, but at least I was heading north. There's a lot of water around.
That pizza sounds excellent. Are you having ice cream as well?
Seconding Anon's comment about hugs and families.
^^This, yes.
Wouldn't your clone be much younger than you, Sherlock, if he were created now? (Which would, of course, make it easy to tell the two of you apart.) And I'd vote for hot chocolate instead of ice cream, since Lestrade is coming in after a cold, wet ride. What do you think?
Glad Im edicating you.
just trying to get legs/arms/fingers working to get off/lock up bike.
He can have hot chocolate and ice cream but I think John's making him tea so then he can just have ice cream and tea.
Tea is good, too, yes.
my boyfriend is locking my bike for me. And scolding me for being wet (literally, not emotionally, and not really scolding, just caring.) and Sherlock is shouting at us out of the window because we're not being fast enough.
You've been hugging FOREVER come inside and order pizza!
I guess when John adds in hugs from the entire internet it takes longer.
Sherlock - find the number for the place, okay? It should be in that drawer.
hugging's good Sherlock, Lestrade needs a few right now and I'm guessing John does as well. you, of course will wait for yours until after pizza is ordered I'm sure but you need them as well :-)
I'm glad you're home Greg :-)
L - I love you. And you're freezing, go and change, and maybe have a shower, all right?
going.
as long as you promise to order pizza, if only to stop Sherlock jumping about waving the menu.
i love you too. You're an amazing man, John Watson.
I promise. With eggs and asparagus and garlic bread and everything.
I think you're pretty amazing too.
Nicky, I'm home, warm, and Sherlock is going to leap out of a first floor window onto an unsuspecting pizza deliverer any moment.
You're a great sister, and mum's lucky to have you.
John already texted to say you were home safe (and cold, and wet.).
I'll keep you up to date with Mum. She's lucky to have you, too. And so are all of us, so don't dwell on what Danny said. He's just angry.
Enjoy your pizza, all of you.
you think we can even get near the pizza with Sherlock? I'm hoping for crumbs left in the box...
Well, not all little brothers, Anony. But some of them, sometimes.
Pizza with egg and asparagus sounds really different. I'm not sure I can even find it here, but not I want to try!
Glad you're home safe, L.
rsf
I understand why you said that Anony (and from I've read elsewhere, you're entitled)--but I'm rather fond of my own little brother. :)
I think it's fair to say, though, that no one knows how to push buttons like family--they know the best things to say, and also the worst...and which they choose tells you so much about who they've chosen to be.
Cheers Anony. I don'tknow. Probably should have guessed that talking to Danny, with his drinking habit, about trying to get Mum on the wagon was a recipe for disaster.
Nicky's right though, he's a bitter, self-centred idiot. And he just bullies Sam into agreeing to everything he says.
Sorry yours causes you grief too.
I'm sorry you had that to deal with on top of everything else, L.
I'm sorry he is so hard to deal with, I think you, Nicky and Rach will just have to stick together focused on your goal and hope Sam can find a way to join you and that Danny finally sees its for the best. you never know in time this may be good for him as well BUT your responsibility is not trying to fix him, in all honesty its not trying to fix your mum but I know you want, and probably need, to try and do that.
Keep your family (those who love and adore you not those you happen to be related to) close and lean on each other and you'll all make it through I'm sure :-)
The hardest part with family is when they really do need some kinds of help and not other kinds, which make you responsible and not responsible at the same time. You can't fix things, exactly, but you turning away isn't an option either.
rsf
Glad you are home safely, in the warm and loving arms of the family of your heart. (And the warm and loving thoughts in the case of those who are at a distance) (or supportive and caring if those are more appropriate adjectives to a teenage boy)(and I'll just shut up now)
I have no idea if you'll see this Rereader but I pray that you do.
please god don't do that to someone again! people have the right to privacy or at least the right not to have their comments in one place linked to things they've written in another so the whole world can go off and have a look for no good reason.
I'm guessing you know stuff because you're her friend and friends keep secrets not share them with the world.
I know that I could have put this on the new post and made sure you see it but that would have been just as bad so I'm taking the risk you won't see it instead.
