double glazing

We made two sorts of glaze, hence my astonishingly clever title. I only have photos of one sort, so let's start with that.

Chocolate Glaze
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Combine, microwave, and stir. Actually Lestrade said you really shouldn't microwave the vanilla, you should add it in after, but I microwaved it and it was fine. Don't tell on me. This was the best glaze by far. It was very thick and very chocolate and very shiny on the biscuits.

I thought we would dip them but it was much easier to drip the glaze on with a spoon. Or with one's fingers. Some of the biscuits are neater than others. Many of the biscuits - the majority I would have to say - are neater than the kitchen counter was when we were done.

I'm sending most of them to school with Sherlock tomorrow. The plan is to bribe his teacher and keep her on our side. Sherlock is unsure about the idea. I can't tell if he thinks he'll get made fun of (surely unlikely? for biscuits?) or if it will force him to actually speak to other children. I admit, this is part of what I'm hoping for.

...I was going to cover the (pink) lemon glaze as well, but I am afraid to look at the clock because I know it's........late. It's very late. And I have to get Sherlock up for school tomorrow. Tomorrow which is technically today. My least favorite sort of tomorrow. So. Good night, dear internet.

Aw, those biscuits look both lovely and delicious. I hope Sherlock doesn't get too embarrassed while delivering them to his classmates and teacher. :3 Aren't you giving some to Lestrade?

Ooh, those look absolutely mouthwatering. I'm a little envious. Though, since you've provided the recipe, I'll try it out on my own. If anything, the other children might follow him around a bit after bringing biscuits. (Not to mention, it's a very clever plan to help Sherlock socialize with others)

I know the military teaches you to go without sleep (I had a friend who was a former US Marine who somehow managed to carry 26 credits' worth of courses and be a resident advisor. He graduated with two majors and three minors, and, most amazingly, survived) but it's not necessarily healthy.

In short: go to sleep!

Lupe - I am giving some to Lestrade! I might even make more on my own today since I've still got his heart biscuit cutter.

Book Geek - Fingers crossed it actually works. :) I suppose I was a bit of a loner at his age too; more interested in books than speaking to people, but at least there was sport. I do worry about him sometimes.

annoyedwabbit - I did, I promise! :) See, I even waited till today to answer comments. I suppose I was just too stubborn to go to bed without posting.

I think sending them to school with Sherlock is a great idea; much better than the tacky cartoon-character Valentines we used to hand out when I was his age. Keep us posted on how it turns out!

The only thing that icing would be more tasty on is a certain Lestrade, I'm sure. ;)

You make an extremely valid point. I may need to bring that up with Lestrade later this evening.
