The muffins vs cupcakes poll came out very nearly even, 56 to 57. Cupcakes won by a hair. Must be the icing. I should hope the outcome of the new poll is a forgone conclusion, if not the outcome of the actual match, but as always, vote early, vote often.
To those being confused by the comments on L's post, Blogger's comment limit for one page is 200, and we've reached it over there. You can see the new comments by clicking through to page two of them.
Mycroft's school visits have been rescheduled due his mum being...somewhere. I thought she said Antarctica, but that seems unlikely. Anyway, Harrow's on Friday now, and I'm not sure about Eton.
For once L's asleep on me instead of me on him. Nice. We ought to work it like this more often. And I have at least another hour before anyone jumps on me. Probably. So, back to sleep.

Tell the truth, John - is your positioning an attempt to make sure Sherlock's elbows hit L before they do you? Are you crafty enough to claim you're just prepping him for the rugby match?
Or are you plotting how to break some ridiculous American laws in the most enjoyable manner possible?
Yeah, the one about not getting fish drunk. And then not tying giraffes to telephone poles. I have a plan. L will never see it coming.
Sorry, should have left my comment here this morning, not on your old post.
Being asleep on you certainly made it easier to disentangle myself this morning, anyway.
Try not to break any laws while I'm at work.
It's all right, pretty sure it's not illegal to get fish drunk here. Have a good day. If possible.
No driving a London taxi without a bag of oats and a bale of hay about your person either, right? I'll be watching.
And thanks. I'll try.
And an unchaperoned sheep?
Definitely no driving livestock through the city.
But you personally should be kept away from unchaperoned sheep, it seems.
With Sherlock and Mycroft around the sheep wouldn't be unchaperoned.
*hugs everyone*
Seems my comments should have been over here too! Morning gentlemen!
Did you sleep well what little sleep you got Greg? I'm sure there's a law somewhere about not being able to leave your person you kiss in bed if you have not gotten a certain number of hours of sleep first...
John: I think choice B is in your new poll to find out if you have any City readers!
I think you can get fish drunk all you like, as long as you promise not to do the same to the frogs in your soon- it-won't-be-just-a-dream frog pond. But that's just a guess.
John, it's a good thing you don't have business cards. Your duty title would look like something one of the Royals has, but instead of "Duke of Umptyump, His Premier Eminence of Bibbity Boo" yours would read something like this:
Dr. John H. D. "P." Watson, M.D., *N.E., P.B.C.G.W, L.K.F.C., P.N.S.Y.R.T.F.C.
:D
*Nanny Extraordinaire; Purveyor of Backrubs, Checkups, and General Well-being; Lestrade Kisser First Class, President of the New Scotland Yard Rugby Team Fan Club
Sherlock Wrangler, Finder Of Tutors, Defender of the Flat, Dog Feeder in Chief, Purveyor of Brownies, Personal Shopper to the Street, Teacher of Life Skills, Yoga Instructor, Best Boyfriend in the World and General Saint.
Oooh, Sally's going to have to cite you for theft. I already used "purveyor." :P
I'll apply to change it to 'vendor', retrospectively.
Fair enough. You clearly have the most comprehensive list, anyway. :)
Hold on, purveyor and vendor both imply I charge for my services...
Well... swapsies is sort of charging...isn't it? Not that you insist on it.
I could open a shop... John's House of Brownies and Backrubs?
If it doesn't sound too creepy, I would go to that shop.
I could use both today.
I'd give you the brownies right now if I could. L might take issue with the other. I'm sorry you're having a bad day. Did you ever get to that cupcake shop?
No, despite being not far, by subway it would have taken 45 minutes, each way, and three different trains.
I agreed to do something I shouldn't have, and I'm backing out of it, but meanwhile, I'm a mess of anxiety/depression/ptsd. And dammit, but I'm really tired of this.
That's the worst, isn't it? It's so easy to end up thinking it's our own fault when it's a situation like that. I'm sorry you're having a hard time right now, and I hope tomorrow will be brighter.
I might take issue with it...but would also feel guilty for doing so. You should be available on prescription.
Becca - hope things improve for you soon.
Perhaps if it was a therapeutic massage and not an I Love You massage it would be okay? But only available in extreme cases of need :D
Greg's business card would be just as long! BAMF, JPHLTK*, SDI, MSOO, CoATWSI, FF, GotC, IMotY, DIM...
*John's Person He Likes To Kiss, Sherlock's DI, Mycroft's Something Or Other, Chef of Amazing Things With Stuff In, Fantastic Friend, Guardian of the City, Inspirational Man of the Year, Delighter In Marmite...
I debate whether Florist Extraordinare should be there :D
You should be available on prescription.
A controlled substance, eh?
Mycroft's Something Or Other
He's my friend.
Well you always make me feel better, and I go into withdrawal without you. So yeah.
Thanks, Mycroft.
Then MF it is! Thank you Mycroft! You're a peach as always <3 So how are you feeling about the swap of dates of the visits? I know you were a bit anxious (and when you feel like that ever again, go read the comments on your guest post and that should remind you how wonderful you are just as yourself) and I just wanted to check in on you.
Wow, you managed to fill the comments page? That's fantastically done! Also the new poll? Not so good for an Aussie - I had to vote the Four Horsemen because I had no idea what the other choices were. Also google is kind of useless without context. XD
Ah sorry, it was in that post about Sherlock's sports day. NSY is New Scotland Yard, Lestrade and everyone. City is the city police force. It's a bit of a grudge match apparently.
If you Google "NSY vs. City of London" the first result is for the Busy Bees Nursery in London. There's a joke in there about kids plays cops and robbers but i'm not quick enough to figure out. :D
